A direct, honest answer on whether you need a degree to work in UK IT, and what actually matters more to employers for entry-level roles.
For the large majority of entry-level UK IT roles, specifically IT support, helpdesk and service desk positions, no, a degree is not required. What matters more is a recognised certification (like CompTIA A+), demonstrable practical skills, and the ability to communicate clearly. A computer science degree becomes more relevant for specific specialist or graduate-scheme roles later, not for a first IT job.
